Carleton height Community Centre Level 2 - April 29th Line-up

Our Level 2 group had a lively and focused afternoon of dancing. We started with a new quick‑learn warm‑up, “I Sold My Soul,” which was an easy one for this group — a light, fun break alongside the more challenging material we’ve been working on.

We continued building on our current dances, and the class moved through everything with great concentration and flow. Juliet joined us for this class also, and she mentioned how well the group danced — a lovely compliment and very well deserved.

A strong session with great teamwork and steady progress all around.

This is what we did:

What a beautiful afternoon of dancing at Carleton Heights today. We were lucky to have my dear friend Juliet join us, and her presence added so much to the class. We learned two new dances, Alligator Smile and The Last Shanty, and both were very well received. Having Juliet at the back of the room made a wonderful difference, giving everyone a clear point to follow when we turned around.

It was a real treat to have her with us — great energy, great teamwork, and a lovely session all around.

Rideau Park United Church – Class Update

After a two‑week hiatus, it was really nice to see everyone back and ready to dance this afternoon. We took things at a comfortable pace, reviewing our previously taught dances and continuing our work on "A Bar Song", which is coming along beautifully — a little smoother and a little faster each time. Well done, everyone!

This week we also introduced the shuffle / triple step, and the whole group caught on wonderfully. Great energy, great focus, and a lovely return to our Friday rhythm.

Stittsville Friendship Club - April 23rd 2026 line-up - Sylvie's Final Class Reflection

Tonight was my last regular class with the Stittsville/Richmond Club, and it was a wonderful evening. Among others, we danced “A Little Bit of Mambo,” Isabella’s pick “You’re the One That I Want,” and my very own choreography “Borrow My Boots.” It was a perfect mix of fun, energy, and shared smiles.

I will miss teaching this group, and I’ll especially miss my dear colleagues Isabella and Juliet, who have been my teaching companions for the past seven months. I managed to capture a photo of those who were in attendance tonight, and it will be a lovely keepsake of this warm, supportive, and enthusiastic group of dancers.

Thank you all for your encouragement, your smiles, and your companionship. It has been a truly wonderful experience.

Carleton Heights CC Level 2 - April 22nd Lineup

Our Level 2 dancers had a great session today. We introduced “A Little Mambo”, and it was a hit — especially dancing it to Mambo #5! We also reviewed Going Blonde and Borrow My Boots, and it was amazing to see how smoothly those dances flowed after adding our new mambo steps. Everything is really starting to come together, and the group is settling beautifully into these new routines.

Looking forward to next week — the progress is showing, and the energy is fantastic. Let’s keep dancing!

I’m already working on a little surprise step for next week — something fun and beginner‑friendly to keep us moving forward together.

Great energy, steady improvement, and lots of smiles. Let’s keep dancing!
