Electric Slide Alt Music - Lucky to Me - The Blue Shadows
Today in Level One we learned a few new steps, including the Jazz Box, the K‑Step, the Scuff and the Pivot/Paddle Turn. We also reviewed the Rocking Chair and learned the Electric Slide. Everyone seemed in great spirits, and the atmosphere was very agreeable. See you next week on the dance floor.

Quitter's Groove
Fly Like A Bird Twice
Great first day with our new Level One group. We started completely from scratch and learned four dances, plus a bit of Fly Like a Bird before the fire alarm sent us outside. Once we were out there, we figured—why not dance? So we reviewed Quitter’s Groove without music, and the footwork was suddenly much easier the second time. Good work, everyone. Until next week.
Here’s what we did — feel free to check the dances out ahead of class.
Quitter's Groove Twice
Goodbye for now to my Level 1 group — 12 wonderful weeks together. Such a lovely group of dancers. Hope to see you again soon.
This is what we did:
Easy Mambo - Alt Music - Despacito - Justin Bieber
LLH Shuffle - Vente Pa Ca - Ricky Martin
Electric Slide - Alt Music - Lucky to Me - The Blue Shadows
We introduced a brand‑new beginner dance today — Quitter’s Groove — and the class picked it up quickly and confidently. They especially enjoyed the footwork in the last eight counts. Such a friendly, easygoing group.
Level 1 and already grooving — Quitter’s Groove landed perfectly today.

We had such a good time dancing with our Level 1 group today. Everything seemed to come more easily for everyone, and the hour just flew by. Lots of fun and lots of smiles — a really lovely class.
If you’re smiling, you’re doing it right!

We Can't Wait Twice
Today we revisited some of the earlier dances we learned, and it was great to see how much everyone remembered. We continued working on Strummingbird and We Can’t Wait, and those are coming along very nicely as well. We even danced the very first routine I ever taught this group — with almost no review — and they managed it beautifully. That’s a real sign of progress.
A great day for this class.

Say GoodbyeToday was another great learning day for our Level 1 group. We introduced two new dances — Strummingbird and We Can’t Wait — and everyone dove right in. It was fun exploring some new steps together, including the Monterey Turn. Lots of smiles all around; it was a genuinely happy place to be.
I reminded everyone that while learning the steps is helpful, the real goal is simply to be together, stay active, and enjoy dancing. And today, we absolutely did.

LLH Shuffle - Vente Pa Ca - Ricky Martin
Level 1 was on fire today — you were dancing so well that we made it through seven dances with confidence and great energy. Because everything was flowing so nicely, we even had time to revisit the LLH Shuffle to Vente Pa’ Ca, and you handled it beautifully. The rhythm and the triple step are settling in, and it really showed.
With the progress you’re making, I think we’ll be ready to explore a few new dances next week. It’s exciting to see how far you’ve come in such a short time.
See you on the dance floor.

Easy Mambo - Alt Music - If You Wanna Be Happy - Dr. Victor & the Rasta Rebels
LLH Shuffle - Vente Pa Ca - Ricky Martin
Today we learned two brand‑new dances, and you all picked them up so smoothly. I was really pleased with how confidently everyone moved through The Door. We also worked on the Rock Recover step from Sweet Rhythm Soul, and that little technique is going to serve us well as we keep building toward the next level.
Well done, everyone. It was such a fun class, and I loved dancing with you today. Looking forward to seeing everything settle in even more next week.

Lots of smiles in class today! Everyone is getting comfortable and progressing so well. We learned Northbound Flame (their first rhumba step!) and I Sold My Soul for some footwork fun. Plus, we kicked things up with faster music — great workout and great energy.

What a beautiful afternoon of dancing at Carleton Heights today. We were lucky to have my dear friend Juliet join us, and her presence added so much to the class. We learned two new dances, Alligator Smile and The Last Shanty, and both were very well received. Having Juliet at the back of the room made a wonderful difference, giving everyone a clear point to follow when we turned around.
It was a real treat to have her with us — great energy, great teamwork, and a lovely session all around.

Our Level 1 group at Carleton Heights is progressing so nicely from week to week. This Wednesday we tackled the mambo and reviewed our shuffle steps, and it’s wonderful to see everyone growing more confident with each class. I’m already working on a little surprise step for next week — something fun and beginner‑friendly to keep us moving forward together.
Great energy, steady improvement, and lots of smiles. Let’s keep dancing!

Today I introduced a new step — the shuffle. We danced to Ricky Martin and everything felt good. We also reviewed our learned dances. It was a great way to spend a rainy afternoon, and it turned into a really full session with seven dances!

My Level 1 group is coming along so nicely. We managed six dances today, and they’ve only been dancing for three weeks. It was a lot of fun — especially Go Cat Go, which is such an energetic dance. Well done everyone, until next week!

Mamma Maria at 91%
We had an excellent class today with a great group of absolute beginners, along with a few dear students who followed me from another class. It was so nice to see your friendly faces. We worked on four dances, and we’ll repeat them next week to fine‑tune the steps before adding one or two new ones as time allows.
Welcome to everyone who joined us — I hope you enjoyed the session and I look forward to dancing with you again next week.

Mamma Maria - Alt music Mustang Sally
Say Goodbye - Twice, Repeated at the end
Our group is excited about the upcoming Level 2 program at the Carleton Heights Community Centre. Registration is now open, and you can click on Level 1 and Level 2 to go directly to the City's registration page. Classes run from March 25th to June 24th.
Level 1 is perfect for beginners, while Level 2 offers a comfortable next step for dancers who want to grow their confidence and learn new steps.
Looking forward to welcoming new dancers in both levels.
A very pleasant afternoon class that went beautifully. We reviewed some old favorites and learned a new dance, then took another look at the waltz. The pivot ¼ turn followed by the scuffs gave us a good challenge, but everyone handled it well. With the room sunny and bright, it made for a really enjoyable session.

The Door new
HoudiniAt Carleton Heights this week we danced our first waltz and introduced the mambo step. The group was ready for anything and picked it up beautifully. Everyone even braved the snow and still came out to dance — very impressive. It’s a lovely venue to work in, and those wood floors make it a pleasure to move.
