Frequently Asked Questions

 

1. Do I need any experience to join your beginner classes?
No experience is required. Absolute beginners are welcome, and we learn everything step by step.

2. Do I need a partner?
No. Line dancing is done individually, and everyone dances in rows.

3. What should I wear or bring to class?
Wear any comfortable closed shoes with a smooth non-gripping soles, clothes you can move in, and a bottle of water.

4. How long is each class?
Classes are one hour unless otherwise noted.

5. What kind of music do you use?
A mix of country, pop, oldies, and anything that fits the dance. It varies from week to week.

6. Can I join anytime, or do I need to start at the beginning of a session?
You can join through the City if Ottawa recreation activity site. City run locations such as Carleton Heights and Diane Deans/Greenboro community centres require registration. Check the City of Ottawa activity schedule for details.

7. Where can I find the schedule for your other teaching locations?
See my “Schedule Page” section for my classes schedule.

6. Is there Parking? Yes. All three locations have parking: behind the United Church and on Cunningham (enter through the Cunningham Ave. door), and at both the Carleton Heights and Diane Deans/Greenboro Community Centre.

8. Do you post the list of dances we learn?
Yes. You’ll find dance lineups for each of my classes on my weekly Home Page posts with links to demos and teach videos to practice at home.
