Rideau Park United Church Last Session June 26th Line-Up
A lovely final afternoon before summer with my Rideau Park group. Most of these dancers began as absolute beginners in January and have grown into joyful, confident movers. They can now continue in Level 1 for the pleasure of dancing or step into Level 2 if they’re ready for a new challenge.
**Keep dancing — it looks good on you.**

Rideau Park United Church - June 19th Line-up
Our Rideau Park group showed up in good number today, and we had a lot of fun learning my new dance, Somebody Sway. It includes a new step combination for this group, and it really seemed to appeal to everyone. We also took some time to work on the Monterey turn in Gin and Tonic, and the group really got a good grip on it today — great progress all around. The afternoon was full of joy and companionship, and it was lovely to see everyone dancing with confidence and ease.

Carleton Heights Community Centre Level 1 June 17th Line-up
We introduced a brand‑new beginner dance today — Quitter’s Groove — and the class picked it up quickly and confidently. They especially enjoyed the footwork in the last eight counts. Such a friendly, easygoing group.
Level 1 and already grooving — Quitter’s Groove landed perfectly today.

Today we worked on two new dances, Chosin’ Texas and Somebody Sway, and the group handled both really well. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, and it felt like everyone was enjoying the challenge without any pressure. Hard to believe we only have one more class before the summer session — the weeks have flown by.
Same steps, same beat, shared joy.

Rideau Park United Church June 12th Line-up
It was hot and humid in the church hall today, but a good number of dancers still came out. We kept things easy with a couple of simple new dances, and we also tested my new choreography. Quitter’s Groove went over very well, and it will definitely be on the agenda for the summer session.

Line Dance Floor Etiquette — 12 Simple Guidelines for a Smooth, Safe Floor
Thank you to my friend Lynn for reminding me to teach dance floor etiquette. This one‑pager is something I put together for my students, and reviewing these myself was a good reminder too.
We’ve been talking in class about dancing in bars, so I thought this list might be useful if you end up dancing in those settings. These tips are simply here to help you feel more confident and comfortable on any dance floor.

Carleton Heigths Community Center Level 1 Line-up for June 3rd
Today we revisited some of the earlier dances we learned, and it was great to see how much everyone remembered. We continued working on Strummingbird and We Can’t Wait, and those are coming along very nicely as well. We even danced the very first routine I ever taught this group — with almost no review — and they managed it beautifully. That’s a real sign of progress.
A great day for this class.

We had such a fun class today. The dancers were moving beautifully, and the energy in the room was great. I introduced the Monterey Turn, and we finally got over that tricky weight shift — a real win for the group.
We also had a lot of laughs dancing Country As Can Be in a circle. It was light, happy, and full of smiles. A really good day for this class.
Until next week.
