Rideau Park United Church - February 27th Line Up

A wonderful afternoon of dancing that we didn’t want to end. We introduced two new dances, including my favorite absolute‑beginner dance, and we also started working on a waltz. A special thank‑you to Wendy for joining us today, and a warm welcome to the newcomers who fit right in. A great session all around.

Carleton Heights Community Centre - February 25th Line up

At Carleton Heights this week we danced our first waltz and introduced the mambo step. The group was ready for anything and picked it up beautifully. Everyone even braved the snow and still came out to dance — very impressive. It’s a lovely venue to work in, and those wood floors make it a pleasure to move.

We had more newcomers join us today and they did very well. I introduced two new dances that use the V‑step, and the group picked them up quickly. Our dancers are progressing beautifully.

Stittsville Friendship Group - February 19th 2026 Juliet's and Sylvie's Dances

Nice evening of dancing last night. We reviewed several newer steps, including the coaster step, the mambo, and the rhumba. Juliet also introduced the group to the sailor step, and everyone picked it up well. We’re getting close to being ready for ‘Heel Toe Rodeo,’ and we’ll ease into it when the time comes. Nice work, everyone.

Rideau Park United Church Line up - February 13th

Yet another great turnout at the Rideau Park United Church Hall for our Friday afternoon line dancing session. More newcomers joined us and stepped in seamlessly. We reviewed some of our previous dances and learned three new ones. We introduced the Step‑Lock‑Step Shuffle, Pivot Step, and Bounce, and we also revisited the K‑Step and the Charleston. Thanks to everyone for letting us take a few photos of the group. It is such a joy to dance with you all.

Stittsville Friendship Club - February 12th - Isabella and Sylvie's Dances

What a fun evening at the Richmond Public School. Isabella led the session tonight, and her clear, precise directions kept everyone moving with confidence. We danced through seven routines, including three brand‑new ones. Lots of shuffles, back‑step kicks, mambo steps — the works. A full, lively night with great energy all around.

The Level 1 class has been lively and enthusiastic, with dancers picking up the basics quickly. We introduced the V‑step this week and the group handled it beautifully. The positive feedback has been wonderful, and there’s already excitement building for the upcoming Level 2 session. Well done, everyone!

North Gower Winter Carnival - February 7th

Last night’s group in North Gower was brand‑new to line dancing, but they were so keen and full of energy. Teaching those three dances to a packed floor of smiling newcomers was genuinely heart‑warming.

I introduced a new dance today at the Rideau Park United Church line dancing group. We welcomed a few newcomers, and it was great to have them join us. We worked on the jazz box and our 3/4 turn, and the group’s enthusiasm made the whole session a pleasure.
