We had a lovely time dancing this afternoon. We learned a new dance and tried it in a circle, which made it especially fun. The whole class had an easy, relaxed feeling — like a gathering of friends. A really enjoyable day.

Carleton Heigths Community Center Level 1 Line-up for June 3rd

Today we revisited some of the earlier dances we learned, and it was great to see how much everyone remembered. We continued working on Strummingbird and We Can’t Wait, and those are coming along very nicely as well. We even danced the very first routine I ever taught this group — with almost no review — and they managed it beautifully. That’s a real sign of progress.

A great day for this class.

Say Goodbye

Carleton Heights Community Centre Level 2 Line-up for June 3rd

We had such a fun class today. The dancers were moving beautifully, and the energy in the room was great. I introduced the Monterey Turn, and we finally got over that tricky weight shift — a real win for the group.

We also had a lot of laughs dancing Country As Can Be in a circle. It was light, happy, and full of smiles. A really good day for this class.

Until next week.

Rideau Park United Church - May 29th Line-up

We covered a lot of material today at Rideau Park United Church. I introduced three new dances along with the rock step, the Monterey Turn, and the Coaster Step. Everything went really well, and the group showed just how much progress they’ve made since we began. It was genuinely impressive to see how confidently everyone handled the new material.

Until next time.

Carleton Heights Community Centre Level 2 - May 27th Line-up

We learned some new dances today in Level 2. We started with Landmine, my new choreography, because I wanted to see what level it truly belongs in. It looks like it will settle at Beginner — the steps are simple enough, and the real challenge is the speed of the music. The song really rocks, so it was fun to try it with the group.

We had a few people returning to class today, so several of the dances were new to them. We took things slowly and worked through everything at a comfortable pace. It was steady, patient learning — exactly what this group does so well.

Until next week.

Carleton Heights Community Centre Level 1 - May 27th Line-up

Today was another great learning day for our Level 1 group. We introduced two new dances — Strummingbird and We Can’t Wait — and everyone dove right in. It was fun exploring some new steps together, including the Monterey Turn. Lots of smiles all around; it was a genuinely happy place to be.

I reminded everyone that while learning the steps is helpful, the real goal is simply to be together, stay active, and enjoy dancing. And today, we absolutely did.

Rideau Park United Church - May 22nd Line-up

We were a smaller group today, but we danced really well and made the most of our time together. I introduced my new choreography Landmine — the music is fast, but the steps are easy, and it was fun to try something with a different kind of energy.

We worked through our remaining dances very nicely, and the whole afternoon had a cosy, relaxed feeling. This group has progressed so well, and it really shows in how confidently everyone moves now.

Until next week — “One step at a time, one smile at a time.”

Carleton Heights Community - Centre Level 2 - May 20th Line-up

We had a smaller group today, but they were focused and hard‑working again. We learned two new dances, and both went smoothly. They reinforced the step combinations we’ve been practicing this session, so they fit nicely into our program.

Level 2 is progressing so well right now — it’s genuinely fun to watch the steps settle in and the confidence grow week by week.

We also went back to two of my own choreographies, and those are coming along steadily. It was a fun class with lots of smiles, which is always great to see.

See you on the dance floor.
